Meet the Pilot

Ryan Meeks

Ryan has been flying some form of Radio-controlled aircraft since he was twelve years old. He has always had a fascination with aircraft, how they work, why they fly and what are their potential. When he turned 17, he signed up for the US Army in the delayed entry program and left for basic training in Aug of 1993. Ryan was a Army Combat medic and EMT in multiple battalions including hospital units, armor, field artillery and Infantry. In 1997, Ryan joined the national guard. Then in 2003, when Ryan first deployed to the Middle East, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he recognized the potential for Unmanned Aerial Surveillance (UAS) in future operations both in theater and for civilian operations.

Since then, Ryan has been flying aircrafts of all types, from rotary wing to large, fixed wing up to 1/8 scale. He has hundreds of hours of recreational flight time and is a very cool handed flyer.

Ryan spent more than 8 years in Army Aviation units and is very familiar with ATC operations and civilian and military collaborations concerning flight pattern. Ryan Worked directly with National Guard UAS companies flying fixed wing aircraft out of Yakima Training center in Yakima, WA.

In 2018, Ryan bought his first multi rotary wing aircraft and realized that the time of civilian drone operations had arrived. He shelved his fixed wing aircraft and concentrated on drones as they were new, carried a camera and had unprecedented range and stability.

Ryan bought his first professional level drone in 2019, and began studying photographic techniques, camera knowledge and FAA regulations.

In 2020, he retired from the military after a 27-year long career and was given the Legion of Merit for exemplary service. Ryan then continued his service by becoming a safety Specialist with the US Air Force on Joint Base Lewis McChord, Tacoma, Washington and is a disabled veteran.

Ryan became FAA certified on 21 Dec 2021 and immediately began doing flights for customers. He established his business, Corvin Drone Solutions LLC, in March of 2022 and has since flown over 60 missions ranging from property inspection, land development, private real estate, banking, roof inspection, orthomosaic mapping , map survey, construction progression and commercial real estate.
